Turtle Creek awarded $5,000 toward landscaping project!

The Novi City Council awarded Turtle Creek $5,000 toward our Landscaping Project at their April 4, 2016 meeting!

On March 21, 2016, the Novi Beautification Commission recommended Turtle Creek for a $5,000 Entryway Enhancement Grant. The Novi City Council approved this request at their April 4, 2016 meeting.

Congratulations to the Turtle Creek Landscaping Committee for the time and energy they invested to apply for the grant and successfully present our plan for new entrance island landscaping to the Commission!

Our entrance Island Landscaping project is moving into high gear! Very soon you can expect to see the following happening at both islands:

  • Replacement of the large public light fixture with an attractive dual-light LED residential fixture
  • Removal of existing trees/shrubs and landscaping rock, and extraction of old sign post stubs/concrete footings
  • Installation of new sign posts, with signs being moved forward to improve visibility (they will now be 8′ from the innermost side of the bridge)
  • Installation of new LED lighting for the signs

Our landscape designer, Mulder Design Group, is actively sourcing our new trees and shrubs. Weather permitting, we may have our beautiful new landscaping installed in late April/early May.

Turtle Creek SignMany thanks to Turtle Creek resident Bill Bartley for his volunteer work in getting the Meadowbrook entrance sign replaced! Bill worked with Bruce Janssen of The Wood Shop in Boyne City, MI to get the job done! The new sign looks great!
